Grace is not something to be acquired from others. If it is external, it is useless. All that is necessary is to know its existence in you.

Why you are falling in to distress for persons who are dead ?, it is the minds entanglement with those deep rooted bonds and associations. When you are dead there is no distress for you. So it means, while remaining in the body only your individuality with body and mind has to die down.

In deep sleep there is no ego. There is no sense of body and you are very comfortable .This ...you already know and experience that daily in your deep sleep.

With their experience even the learned saints are teaching the same. By leaving the sense of body and mind get used to that intellect of the true self, which appears to be not present, but its presence is there, which is beyond the scope of body and mind.

The self enquiry will lead you to experience that sensitive power.

If you seek the grace of God with your whole heart, then you may be assured that the grace of God is also seeking you.

You are there in deep sleep. In awakened state also you are there. In both the states there is only one true self. Staying with the awareness of external world and staying without that, is the only difference between the two states .The whole world is arising with that mind and settling down with that mind. It is the mind which deals with dawn and dusk.

The true self is not that one, which is influenced by sunrise and sunset.

The seat of support for that minds arising a...nd subsiding is that true self only

Everyone is under the grip of that pride and ego. For coming out of that strong hold, the practitioner need to ensure there is no further creation of additional awareness into that memory of mind from its various perceptions and experiences with its external world.

The seer and the object seen are like the rope and the snake. Just as the knowledge of the rope which is the substrate will not arise unless the false knowledge of the illusory serpent goes, so the realization of the Self which is the substrate will not be gained unless the belief that the world is real is removed

If you make your outlook that of wisdom, you will find the world to be God. Without knowing the Supreme Spirit (Brahman), how will you find His all-pervasiveness?

In deep sleep you have no world for you. But you are there in that sleep. You are very comfortable also. Only after awakening from sleep you are loosing your comfort. After getting up only this sense of identification with body and mind is coming.
This is something new to you. In your sleep this ego is not there.

The birth of your individuality with your ego is considered as your birth.

When that individuality of mind is eliminated what remains is that true self only.
...
That is the eternal bliss.

Abide as That in which there are no concepts, the ego ceases to exist, all desires disappear, the mind becomes extinct and all confusions come to an end – and with the firm conviction that you are That, be always happy. ~ The Heart of the Ribhu Gita

You and I are the same. What I have done is surely possible for all. You are the Self now and can never be anything else.Throw your worries to the wind, turn within and find Peace.

Since we know the world, we must concede for both a common Source, single but with the power of seeming many. The picture of names and forms, the onlooker, the screen, the light that illumines - all these are verily He. ~ Ulladu Narpadu

Who am I? After negating all as 'not this', 'not this', that Awareness which alone remains - that I am

As all living beings desire to be happy always, without misery, as in the case of everyone there is observed supreme love for one's self, and as happiness alone is the cause for love, in order to gain that happiness which is one's nature and which is experienced in the state of deep sleep where there is no mind, one should know one's self.

The true self is a resplendent brilliant light which shines on its own. For knowing that true self, there is no need to inquire into philosophical and spiritual scriptures. Some people say the spiritual scriptures are twenty four. Some others will say some other different things.
Some others will start explaining different theories according to their line of thoughts and practice.

Do you think that for knowing that true self all these research into spiritual and philosophical theories is essential ???. The true self... is something which never sticks to anything, for explaining this all those scriptures made an elaborate presentation for you.

But a Pracitcer without referring to these spiritual theories can make direct efforts to identify that power of true self. By inquiring into the roots of his mind he can identify that power of true self within and remain with that knowledge of true self.

All Our efforts should be directed towards acquiring that primary essential knowledge about the true self.

That itself is the ultimate in knowledge.

There are only two ways for coming out of distress and difficulties. One is by considering yourself as a person without any individual power or capacity and by seeking the assistance of god surrendering to your favorite God.
If the above method is not possible for you, then try to inquire within to explore for the reasons of that distress and place your mind in its origin and dissolve in that power of true self.

By any of the above two methods all the distress a...nd difficulties will disappear for you.

Whoever takes the responsibility of doer ship only experiences the comforts and suffers with sorrows.

When a person constantly considers himself as a spectator in the scheme of things of god then only he will go beyond the effects of comforts and distresses. Then he will perceive that everything is guided by god.

Unless that individuality with body and mind is not lost, the difficulties will never go away from you.

When all the good and bad events are attributed to the actions of god then why you separate those comforts and sorrows as yours and take ownership for them ?

When all our mental conceptions and imaginations take an active form to identify with external things, then the light reflected from heart will flow through our mind on those external objects and then the mind will perceive everything in the outside world.
When we try to shift from all those conceptions of mind, by giving least importance to those activities of mind, then the mind attains a state of stillness. Then the resplendent light stabilizes in your heart.

Generally the mind is made with... two types of characters.

One is it will engage in wishful desires with attachment towards various things and participates in executing them. The other is it will engage itself in laziness and by ignoring all its duties and responsibilities it will engage in lustful desires. It will be engrossed in entertaining itself with useless activities with various things.

The mind gets purified only when it gets liberated from above two characteristics. Then only it will become resplendent self shining power of true self.

This is only called as experiencing the power of true self.

Due to all these important reasons only the mind is considered as main tool for reaching out to that true self.

Dont conclude that success is firmly guaranteed by your will power only. Dont conclude that the will power and determination only ensure everything for you. The Mental strength, with which you receive Success and failure with total equality, is the real meaning of that will power.Success in materialistic achievements will ensure growth of pride and ego, and under that nourishment the mind will always create stumbling blocks for spiritual growth.

But failures in the above pursuits will work as an eye opener and prepares a practicer for surrendering to that power of true self.

Surrender to true self is an alternative name of ever-present incessant delight

Abandonment of worldly affairs and their related things is a form of mental restraint only. Without that mental self-discipline meditation is not possible. Unless meditation stabilizes, restraining of that mind is not possible. So this problem is always there. Both of them are inter dependent on each other.
So a practicer should practice both of them. A combination of continuous practice and renouncement of various worldly affairs will give good results over a period of time.

For restraining that mind from engaging in external things and divert...ing that mind towards inside, application of ceaseless practice gives support to a great extent.

Submission of soul in your body means, surrendering yourself to that true self on your own. It means placing your pride and ego under the control and command of that true self. Searching for the roots of your mind and submerging in that origin of mind also conveys the same meaning. In reality that mind belongs to that true self only. We don’t have any type of rights over that mind. As we are under the impression that we are made of body and mind with our pride and ego, it is necessary for us to submit that mind with all its content to that true self

The Lord shines as the source of the mind. To turn the mind within towards that Source and to abide therein steadfastly is the only way to seek the Lord." ~ Truth Revealed (Sadvidya

It [knowledge] is that tranquil state of existence-consciousness which is experienced by the aspirant and which is like the waveless ocean or the motionless ether

The existence of this existence-consciousness can be inferred by the objects illuminated by it. It does not become the object of consciousness.

It is the self-luminous existence-consciousness, which reveals to the seer, the world of names and forms both inside and outside.

Beyond the scope of your mind and the visible world out side, you are there as a part of that power of true Self. First of all you need to have firm faith in this truth. Let that mind may run behind many things with its enthusiasm, but the seat of that entire mental activity is based on the power of true self only .Even when that mind is running behind the worldly activities, you need to make attempts to catch hold of that true Self

Guru is none other than the Self.

Q: How long does it take a man to be reborn after death? Is it immediately after death or some time later?

Maharshi: You do not know what you were before birth, yet you want to know what you will be after death. Do you know what you are now?"

To the ignorant and the wise alike the world exists. To the former, the world observed alone is real. To the wise, the formless source of the visible is the one world, Real and Perfect - Sat-Darshana Bhashya

Lakshmi

The most favored of all the animal devotees was a cow named Lakshmi. She was brought along with her mother as a gift to Bhagavan. He felt he could not properly care for the cows and so they were taken to farm in a neighboring village. After Lakshmi had been with the farmer for a year or more he went one evening to Ramanas ashram for prayers bringing Lakshmi and her mother with him for a visit. Lakshmi was irresistibly attracted to Ramana and must have noted carefully the way to the ashram. The next day she appeared on her own and from then on came every day returning, by herself the farm in the evening. At some point along the way she became a permanent member of the ashram. During her life at the ashram, Lakshme bore several calves at least three of them on Bhagavan’s birthday.. She was extremely devoted to Bhagavan and he showed her the utmost Grace and kindness.

On June 17, 1948 Lakshmi became very ill and it was clear that her time had come to an end. Bhagavan went to her and said: “Amma (Mother), do you want me near you?” He sat down beside her and cradled her head in his lap putting one hand on her head and one over her heart just as he had done when his own human mother lay dying. He gazed into her eyes for a long time and lay his cheek against hers stroking her gently. She focused all of her attention on Bhagavan and was conscious up to the end, her eyes bright and clear. On June 18th at 11:30 am she left her body peacefully. She was buried in the Ashram compound and given full funeral rights. Her grave was beside that of a deer, crow and dog which Bhagavan had also buried there. A stone was placed over her grave with her likeness carved into it. On the stone was also engraved the epitaph he had written for her stating that she had attained (Mukti) final liberation. The word mukti is used in two different ways. Generally when it is said that someone has attained mukti it means that they have died. The more spiritual term Mukti means that the soul (usually a very advanced soul) has attained final liberation from this realm of existence. When Bhagavan was questioned as to which definition he was referring to when speaking of Lakshmi, did he mean that she had died or that she had attained liberation, he said Mukti - final liberation!
