The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness, only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest.
Divine happiness, even the tiniest particle of a grain of it, never leaves one again; and when one attains to the essence of things and finds one's Self--this is supreme happiness. When it is found, nothing else remains to be found; the sense of want will not awaken anymore, and the heart's torment will be stilled forever. Do not be satisfied with fragmentary happiness, which is invariably interrupted by shocks and blows of fate; but become complete, and having attained to perfection, be YOURSELF.
Just as the fire is the direct cause for cooking, so without Knowledge no emancipation can be had. Compared with all other forms of discipline Knowledge of the Self is the one direct means for liberation.
So long as one has any association with this awful sense of being the doer there cannot be the least achievement of liberation which is something very different.
Who is journeying for freedom? The one who is already free. Just get rid of the concept, "I am the body, separate from the source." You return to what you always were.
You are the unchangeable Awareness in which all activity takes place.
There is no process to become silent. To disturb your mind you need process, but to stay silent there is no process. Stay in satsang, stay quiet, always have love with your own Self. You are not to win it by any attempt or effort. Simply stay quiet. If any thought rises, simply find out where it came from.
The Silence that I speak about is neither meditating nor sitting quiet. The Silence that I speak about has nothing to do with meditation or talking or not talking because then the mind is still running about here and there and everywhere. What I mean by Silence is that should be no thought rising from the mind. No thought rising from your mind is Silence.
Have wisdom in your actions and faith in your merits.
You must unlearn what you have learned.
Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers. The round
pegs in the square holes – the
ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules and
they have no respect for
the status quo. You can praise
them, disagree with them,
quote them, disbelieve them,
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing that you
can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.

We are here to love each other, serve each other and uplift each other.
In any moment, you are either observing effortlessly or you are believing your thoughts.
When ego is lost, limit is lost. You become infinite, kind, beautiful.
A visitor from Tirukoilur asked if the study of the sacred books will reveal the truth.
Ramana: That will not suffice.
Q: Why not?
Ramana: Samadhi alone can reveal it. Thoughts cast a veil over Reality and so it cannot be clear in states other than Samadhi.
Q: Is there thought in Samadhi? Or is there not?
Ramana: There will only be the feeling ‘I am’ and no other thoughts.
D: Is not ‘I am’ a thought?
Ramana: The egoless ‘I am’ is not thought.
It is realisation.
The meaning or significance of ‘I’ is God.
The experience of ‘I am’ is to Be Still.

If you are irritated by every rub, how will you be polished?
By the way, what have you done that’s so great?
Do you create anything, or just criticize other’s work
and belittle their motivations

The successful few owe their success to their perseverance.
You must know that you can swim through every tide and change of time.
Awareness with an object we called witnessing. When there is also self identification with the object, caused by desire or fear, such a state is called a person. In reality there is only one state; when distorted by self identification it is called a person, when coloured by sense of being, it is the witness; when colourless and limitless, it is called Supreme.
A Great Silence overcomes me, and I wonder why I ever thought to use language.

Respected Mr. Gandhi !
I use the presence of your friend in our home to send you these lines. You have shown through your works, that it is possible to succeed without violence even with those who have not discarded the method of violence. We may hope that your example will spread beyond the borders of your country, and will help to establish an international authority, respected by all, that will take decisions and replace war conflicts.
With sincere admiration,
Yours A. Einstein.
I hope that I will be able to meet you face to face some day.

*Einstein on Gandhi*
I believe that Gandhi's views were the most enlightened of all the political men in our time.
We should strive to do things in his spirit: not to use violence in fighting for our cause, but by non-participation in anything you believe is evil.

The world consists of matter, energy and intelligence. They manifest themselves in many ways. Desire and imagination create the world and intelligence reconciles the two and causes a sense of harmony and peace. To me it all happens; I am aware, yet unaffected.
What you seek is already in you. Take my own case. I did nothing for my realization. My teacher told me that reality is within me; I looked within and found it there, exactly as my teacher told me. Only the mirror must be clear and true. A quiet mind, undistorted by desires and fears, free from ideas and opinions, clear on all levels, is needed to reflect the reality. Be clear and quiet - alert and detached, all else will happen by itself.
