The Atman consumes you, giving you eternal existence, eternal consciousness, and eternal bliss. And nobody knows it. Everyone is searching outside through the senses. Whatever you see, wherever you see name and form, it is not true. These names and forms will never give you peace or love. Whatever you see, feel, or experience through pleasurable sense objects ultimately will leave you hungry.

So this is the decision and the discernment. With this discernment, this discrimination, a few will decide "I want to be free." They will find a teacher. The teacher is within you. The satguru is within you. Your desire for freedom is going toward that satguru, that Brahman

It is not difficult to be free. Freedom is within you. Love is within you and you are searching at the supermarket. This samsara is a supermarket dealing in commodities. Turn your back on it and you are free. Return home.

The sun is so big, much bigger than the earth, yet a single cloud can hide the sun. Clouds are thoughts. Likewise, the I-thought is hiding the Self. The I-thought is hiding peace, beauty, and love. How to remove the cloud? Inquire, and it will vanish when you inquire, because it is not real.

It is consciousness; it does not need to borrow material from anywhere else. "Let there be manifestation," and manifestation is there. Whatever you think is instantly there, within consciousness. Consciousness desiring for whatever it is within consciousness.

Nothing has ever happened. Nothing is ever going to happen. This is ultimate truth. Everything else is trouble of the mind.

What passes away is not eternal. Every form that is born has to pass away, but the underlying essence has no form and never passes away. If you attach yourself to a form, you make a big mistake. Even attaching yourself to the form of the Guru is a mistake. It is not the form of the person that can give you light; it is something else that is deep within your own Heart. That is your Guru. That Guru abides in the Heart of all beings, not only human beings but also animals, birds, trees and plants. When you see your own essence, when you have that direct experience, you will see that every plant and animal is your own Self. They will all start to speak to you. This is the formless Self in the Heart of all beings.

Devotee: "I have only one desire left. I really want to be with my Guru. All other desires have dropped. I am surrendered to him completely. I just want to sit with him. Is this okay?"

Papaji: "No!"

Devotee: "I knew you were going to say this!"

Papaji: "Did your previous Guru tell you no?"

Devotee: "No."

Papaji: "I say no because I say don't stay with or depend on any person who has name and form. On this basis I say no.

Stay with the Guru who has no name or form,
Stay with It, which is formless.

So if you still see my form don't stay with the form. Stay with my formlessness. The people who are staying Here are staying with Formlessness, not with form. For some it is taking time to reduce my form (laughs) but they will wait. Some people have immediately seen my Formlessness. Those who have not seen It are not ready to see it. When you are ready, Grace will bring you here and if it doesn't work then it is disgrace for you. (giggles) If it does work and you know the Formlessness then your work is over. Be Here, complete your desires, become desireless and this desirelessness is called Enlightenment."

Papaji: "What a question! 'Where to find you?' Nobody can see and so what you see is not a fact. Therefore, search me somewhere where the eyes do not see. Look nowhere and you shall find me. Do you understand? Look nowhere and thou hast found Formlessness."

Затем; он (Рамана Махарши) пристально посмотрел на меня. Я почувствовал, что все мое тело и ум омывают волны чистоты. Единственный взгляд Махарши очистил меня. Я чувствовал, что он смотрит мне прямо в Сердце. Под его магическим взглядом я ощутил, что каждый атом моего тела стал чистым. Мне словно было даровано новое тело. Осуществлялся процесс преображения: старое тело атом за атомом умирало, а вместо него создавалось новое. И вдруг я понял! Я осознал, что этот человек, который разговаривал со мной, есть то, чем я уже являюсь, чем я всегда был. Я вдруг опознал свое «Я».

Я умышленно говорю «опознал», так как в непосредственном переживании увидел, что это несомненно именно то состояние покоя и счастья, которое я уже испытал в восьмилетнем возрасте в Лахоре (когда не мог взять стакан с манговым коктейлем). Безмолвный взгляд Махарши вернул меня в то изначальное состояние, но теперь оно стало непрерывным. То «я», которое так долго искало Бога вне себя (так как хотело вернуться в состояние, испытанное в детстве), исчезло в непосредственном знании и постижении истинного «Я», которое Махарши вновь показал мне. Я не могу точно описать свои переживания — книги правы, когда говорят, что словами этого не передать. Я могу говорить только о сопутствующих явлениях. Я могу сказать, что каждая клетка, каждый атом моего тела вдруг воспрянули, распознав то «Я», которое оживляет и поддерживает их. Но саму суть переживаний описать я не могу. Я совершенно не сомневался в том, что мой духовный поиск завершен, но источник этой убежденности просто неописуем.

Спустя время на берегу реки Ганга, у Пападжи случился опыт, аналогичный опыту Будды:
Я увидел все свои воплощения — от червя до предыдущей жизни. В разное время и в разных местах мне довелось быть растениями, животными, птицами, людь­ми. Вся череда инкарнаций разворачивалась передо мной в реальном масштабе времени; мне казалось, что прошли миллионы лет. Однако, вернувшись в нормаль­ное состояние сознания, я понял, что все длилось не более доли секунды. В момент просветления человек осознаёт, что это именно так. Все проблемы, страдания, циклы рождений и смертей, концепции циклов — все появляется на эту долю секунды и сразу же исчезает. Если в течение доли секунды не касаться ума, можно увидеть это непосредственно. Просто медитируйте. Останьтесь на долю секунды без мыслей, и вы узнаете, кто вы есть.

Была о;дна история, которую Пападжи часто рассказывал на сатсангах. История об одном японце, который узнал о Пападжи, прилетел из Японии и прямо из аэропорта вместе с чемоданом пришел на сатсанг, задал Пападжи четыре или пять вопросов, взял чемодан и пошел к выходу. Пападжи сказал: “Куда же ты уходишь?” Он ответил: “Я пол света объехал в поисках человека, который мог бы ответить на мои вопросы так, чтобы я был удовлетворен. И сейчас впервые я получил ответ на все вопросы. И я благодарен. Но вы – очень опасный человек, потому что, если я останусь чуть дольше, я влюблюсь в вас. Так что я должен вас покинуть немедленно”.
