The Silence that I speak about is neither meditating nor sitting quiet. The Silence that I speak about has nothing to do with meditation or talking or not talking because then the mind is still running about here and there and everywhere. What I mean by Silence is that should be no thought rising from the mind. No thought rising from your mind is Silence.
I advise you to surrender to the Teacher
and listen to him from the inside.
Then let the body become like a machine.
You don't work it, it is just working.
Find the charioteer seated in your Heart
and you will be at Peace always.

Only the Truth is and you are That! You are the unchanging Awareness in which all activity takes place. To deny this is to suffer, to know this is Freedom. It is not difficult to realize this because it is your True Nature. Simply inquire ‘Who am I?’ and watch carefully. Do not make effort and do not stir a thought. Look within, approach with all-devotion and stay as Heart. Keep vigilant and you will see that nothing will arise. This is the trick of how to keep the mind quiet and how to win Freedom. This doesn’t take time because Freedom is always Here. You simply have to watch: where does mind arise from? Where does thought come from? What is the source of this thought? Then you will see that you have always been Free and that everything has been a dream.
The one who follows the thought is also a thought! The one who follows the thought IS in thought. When you know that both are thoughts, you are home. You are not at home, you ARE home. Then allow thoughts to arise and allow them to be followed. You remain as That unmoved and unconcerned Being. This is the highest understanding.
Be quiet, don’t think, don’t make effort.
To be bound takes effort, to be Free takes no effort.
Peace is beyond thought and effort.

When you do not stir any thought from the mind ground, without moving, without moving the mind, without starting a single thought - in an instant of time you are free.
We are looking for freedom. What is freedom?
It is not in anything objective. It is neither the creation, nor the creator of this universe, nor the God who is looking after preservation, nor destruction. It is none of that. It is neither the sun, nor the moon, nor the stars, nor the wind. Those are not freedom. No object is freedom. Go on rejecting everything objective from the mind. Freedom is nothing that the mind can conceive or perceive or understand. Finally you will arrive at that which cannot be rejected. Go on rejecting everything that can be rejected, all objects. Get rid of all objectification.
Finally, when you see nothing more to be rejected, the mind will be quiet. Mind will be no-mind: That cannot be described. All description belongs to the objective world only and consciousness cannot be objectified. In the beginning when there was nothing there was consciousness - total consciousness - where no objects and no subjects existed. You are this consciousness.
Starting from the beginning, before the beginning, you are this consciousness. And this consciousness became all that you see. You are this consciousness itself. There are millions of kinds of manifestation existing in consciousness and you have become all this. You are the fountain of all this creation.
For this you do not have to exert or make effort, or search for any way or method or practice. Somehow you have to arrive here. How can you do it? Through adoration of the wisdom of the Self. That s consciousness. Adore your own consciousness with wisdom and you have achieved what you are aspiring for here and now.

Enlightenment is not about words and thoughts and concepts which can be doubted. Enlightenment is always here. By 'here' I don't mean this present space. Here is somewhere within where mind cannot reach. Presence is always here and you are always That. This here is not the opposite of 'there'. This here is nowhere, it is your Heart. When mind is still all comes back to the Heart. All the cosmos is but a speck in your Heart. Turn mind over into this 'here' and it is lost. Then only light, wisdom and love remain and This you are not different or apart from.
There is no process to become silent. To disturb your mind you need process, but to stay silent there is no process. Stay in satsang, stay quiet, always have love with your own Self. You are not to win it by any attempt or effort. Simply stay quiet. If any thought rises, simply find out where it came from.
Everybody speaks to you of the past. Do you find anyone among your friends and relations who is speaking of the present? Everyone speaks to you of the past; therefore it has become very strong. You will have to seek out the company of those who speak to you of the present moment, then this will also become much stronger and you will shun the company of the past. To get rid of the past keep company with those who are trying to live in, or who have tasted this moment of present, who are speaking about this present life. Satsang means association with those who live in Truth. Here everyone is speaking everyday of this present moment, of peace and love and happiness.
Self is what you are. You are That Fathomlessness in which experience and concepts appear.
Self is the Moment that has no coming or going. It is the Heart, Atman, Emptiness.
It shines to Itself, by Itself, in Itself.

Thoughts appear and disappear but they are not "mine" so they don't bother me.
Let them come, let them go. What does it matter? They are nothing to do with me.

Who is journeying for freedom? The one who is already free. Just get rid of the concept, ‘I am the body, separate from the source.’ You return to what you always were.
Let your will burn in this fire so that it takes you nowhere else. Let your self be burned in this fire of eternity, love and peace.
Don't be afraid of this fire, it is love itself.
