INQUIRER: The hunger of the senses can never be appeased; the more one gets, the more one wants.
The fulfilment of worldly desire only begets greater longing.
SRI MA: This world is itself but an embodiment of want, and hence the heartache due to the absence of fulfilment must needs endure. This is why it is said that there are two kinds of currents in human life : the one pertaining to the world, in which want follows upon want; the other of one’s true Being. It is characteristic of the former that it can never end in fulfilment - on the contrary, the sense of want is perpetually stimulated anew. Whereas by entering the latter man will become established in his true nature and bring to completion the striving which is its expression. Thus, if he endeavours to fulfil himself by entering this current, it will eventually bring him to the perfect poise of his own true Being

There is no need of a way out [of the dream]! Don't you see that a way out is also a part of the dream? All you have to do is see the dream as dream. The very idea of going beyond the dream is illusory. Why go anywhere? Just realize that you are dreaming a dream you call the world, and stop looking for ways out. The problem is not the dream. Your problem is that you like one part of your dream and not another. Love all, or none of it, and stop complaining. When you have seen the dream as a dream, you have done all that needs be done.
Do not entertain any notions that you are in trouble.
Be kind to yourself.
Open to your Heart and simply Be.

My greatest spiritual guru has always been discomfort. Just sitting with pain or discomfort, without trying to escape in any way, without expectation, without a goal in mind, without seeking anything - that's the juicy place, the place of creative transformation, the place where mud turns to gold. For many years, I would just sit with grief, frustration, anger, fear, pain, just resting in that bubbling, burning mess for hours and hours, without trying to escape or fix my experience, without hope, without a dream... until peace was discovered even in the midst of that storm, the unshakeable, non-conceptual, ever-present peace that I am, and have always been. Instead of trying to escape discomfort, we let discomfort reveal its deeper secrets.
We sit with discomfort and watch all boundaries between 'me' and 'discomfort' melt away, until it is no longer 'me sitting with my discomfort' at all, and never was. We sit with frustration in the place where it has not yet coagulated into 'I am frustrated'. We sit with fear prior to the resurrection of the image 'I am the one who is afraid'. We sit with anger before the birth of our identity as 'the angry one'. We know ourselves as the vast open space, the boundless and identity-less ocean that welcomes all of these waves as its beloved children, returned home at last, home at last.

The seeking itself is God.
Love itself is the lover and the beloved.
Love itself is the lover and the beloved.
There is a very strange thing that can occur at exactly the point where you realize that there is no escaping the imaginary world of your illusions. You bare your heart open to illusion, surrender your eternal struggle against it, and admit to being bound by its cunning imagination. I don't mean that you become despondent or resigned to your fate. I mean that you truly let go in the face of your utter defeat and stop struggling. And when all the struggle ceases, we realize that the prison of our mind cannot hold us in anymore, because the prison was all along something we imagined into existence. And imagined things aren't real, they don't exist. But we could never really see this as long as we were fighting the phantoms of our minds. We needed the one thing that our imaginary minds could not bring about, could not fake or create: the genuine surrender of all struggle. In the blink of an eye, we are no longer confined within illusion nor our attempt to avoid illusion. When all struggle ceases, there is nothing to bind us to a distorted perception of existence and we can finally see. What we see is that we do not simply exist within existence, but all of existence exists within us as well. And although everywhere we look we see the endless diversity of life, we also now see our own true face in everything under the sun.
As all waves are in the ocean, so are all things physical and mental in awareness. Hence awareness itself is all-important, not the content of it.
Detach yourself from those things which are not permanent, and rest in that which is always permanent.
The ordinary man is living a very abnormal life, because his values are upside down. Money is more important than meditation; logic is more important than love; mind is more important than heart; power over others is more important than power over one's own being. Mundane things are more important than finding some treasures which death cannot destroy.
Every person offers a little reflection of the Self, but the Sage is like a huge mirror in whose compassionate presence the dissharmonious is seen. Many avoid this mirroring, but those who continue to look, come to see the face of God.
I don't want to tell people to be happy. I just want to tell 'You are Love'. I don't want to say to celebrate life even. I'm just Here and it's enough. My 'here' is enough. I'm happy inside my heart.
Longing for a tiny grain of pleasure, people toil so
hard using the mind to plough the field of the five
senses, but they never wish for the flood of Bliss
which is the fruit that comes by ploughing the Heart,
the Source of the mind, with [simple] Self-attention.
Ah, what a wonder!

When one starts to go into the self deeper and deeper within and finally reaches an awakening, that one becomes the whole universe.
This is what awakening is.
Awakening is not selfish.
There are some people who believe you awaken to a greater and bigger personality.
Some people actually believe that you awaken to gigantic ego.
Where you're able to do all kinds of miracles and perform all kinds of feats.
Again let me remind you that there has to be someone left to do those things.
When you awaken, the personal self has been destroyed.
There is no-one to have siddhis, no-one to perform miracles, no-one to be clairvoyant, no-one to tell fortunes.
All that has been completely annihilated and only the substratum remains.

In other words when you come into a predicament in your life, before you get involved in it, say to yourself,
"Now what would God do in a case like this?"
And since God doesn't exist, there's nothing to do.
So why are we discussing the subject?
Because you want to hear me talk.

The self is like a pearl.
To find it you must dive deep down into silence, deeper and ever deeper until it is reached.

An ajnani sees someone as a jnani and identifies him with the body. Because he does not know the Self and, mistakes his body for the Self, he extends the same mistake to the state of the jnani. The jnani is therefore considered to be the physical frame.
Again since the ajnani, though he is not the doer, yet imagines himself to be the doer and considers the actions of the body his own, he thinks the jnani to be similarly acting when the body is active. But the jnani himself knows the Truth and is not confounded.

That inner Self, as the primeval Spirit, eternal, ever effulgent, full and infinite Bliss, single, indivisible, whole and living, shines in everyone as the witnessing awareness.
That self in its splendour, shining in the cavity of the heart, this self is neither born nor dies, neither grows nor decays, nor does it suffer any change.

Let the mind come, but don't `have’ a mind. Mind helps you to exercise your wisdom, your own power of discernment to stay as you are and not divide yourself. When this is appreciated, you will stop fearing the mind. Gradually, as understanding deepens to reveal the Self as one's own reality, the mind becomes a friend and servant.
In the beingness itself there is no anxiety or waiting.
No waiting, no anticipating, no next.
Recognize the Self that is not on the way to becoming another state.
It is stateless. It simply Is.
It is not the thinking mind.
Recognize the difference between thought and Self.
Thought is more like the wind that moves about,
but Self is like space which is present everywhere and doesn't move about.
Space has no opinion about thought.
Thoughts cannot crash into space for space is formless.
Recognise, acknowledge and be one with the space which Is.
This is natural for you.
It doesn't matter what the mind says about that.
It may say: ‘There is no value in simply being.
There is only value in becoming’.
And by accepting this, it will rob you of your inherent peace and silence.
To be the Self is not a state of laziness.
It is to be in natural harmony.
Keep the attention here in the silence of being.
And at the same time you can notice that your activities don't suffer from your attention being in being.
The invitation here is to go completely through the forest of mind into the pure recognition of what is timeless and perfect.
This is completely possible here.
Don't be afraid.
Whenever a human being has done this, however long ago that is, the rest of the world cannot forget them.
The impact of their presence brings light to uncountable beings.
That presence, I am speaking about is your own true Self.
Nobody is more close to it to another,
or too far from it.
These are mere ideas.
Wake up to what you can never not be.
Seize your chance.
Come.
No waiting, no anticipating, no next.

The seat of Realization is within and the seeker cannot find it as an object outside him. That seat is bliss and is the core of all beings. Hence it is called the Heart.
I, the light of pure Knowing, never venture out of Myself in order to come into contact with a thought, sensation or perception. I always remain within Myself, and whatever I find in Myself is made only of Myself.
On the path of love,
friend and stranger are one and the same.
friend and stranger are one and the same.
Never lose hope, my heart, miracles dwell in the invisible.
I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.
Discriminate between the real and the unreal.
The known is unreal and will come and go
so stay with the Unknown, the Unchanging Truth.
All which appears and disappears is not real,
and no nectar will come from it so don't cling to it,
and once you let go do not turn back to it.
Stay as Eternity in your own Being.

Pre-occupation with theory, doctrine and philosophy can actually be harmful, insofar as it distracts a man from the really important work of spiritual effort, by offering an easier alternative which is merely mental, and which therefore cannot change his nature.
