When you stop searching and you calm down and you put your books away, and you confront yourself and see what you are all about, that will bring about bliss faster than anything you can ever imagine or ever do.
It is necessary to try and dedicate to the Supreme every single action of one’s daily life.
Guru No. 24 of Avadhoot Lord Dattatreya
Water: Lord Dattatreya replied that my twenty fourth guru is a Water. It quenches the thirst of every living creature, sustains innumerable life's, trees and all creatures. While it serves one and all living beings, it is never proud of itself. On the other hand, it humbly seeks the lowliest of places. The sage too should likewise bestow health, peace and joy to every creature that resorts to him. Yet he should ever live as the humblest of God’s creation.

I am dead already. Physical death will make no difference in my case. I am timeless being. I am free of desire or fear, because I do not remember the past or imagine the future. Where there are no names and shapes, how can there be desire and fear? With desirelessness comes timelessness. I am safe, because what is not, cannot touch what is. You feel unsafe, because you imagine danger. Of course, your body as such is complex and vulnerable and needs protection. But not you. Once you realize your own unassailable being, you will be at peace.
O Father, when I was blind I found not a door that led to Thee. Thou hast healed my eyes; now I discover doors everywhere: the hearts of flowers, the voices of friendship, memories of lovely experiences. Each gust of my prayer opens a new entrance to the vast temple of Thy presence.
Don’t study. If it happens, let it happen. But don’t be dedicated to study.
Be dedicated to drown yourself, to disappear, to vanish in the Absolute Self.
With such an attitude one moves from death to everlasting life.

When the mind becomes extinguished, the supreme state, in which this world once and for all ceases to appear [as real], is won.
Cease to be a knower, then there is perfection.
We believe in so many things on hearsay. We believe in distant lands and people, in heavens and hells, in gods and goddesses, because we were told. Similarly, we were told about ourselves, our parents, name, position, duties and so on. We never cared to verify. The way to truth lies through the destruction of the false. To destroy the false, you must question your most inveterate beliefs. Of these the idea that you are the body is the worst. With the body comes the world, with the world -- God, who is supposed to have created the world and thus it starts -- fears, religions, prayers, sacrifices, all sorts of systems -- all to protect and support the child-man, frightened out of his wits by monsters of his own making. Realize that what you are cannot be born nor die and with the fear gone all suffering ends.
You will have peace only if you can rise above worldly desires.
Once the Guru has accepted a disciple, He will never leave him until the goal has been attained. The question of leaving does not arise at all.
What passes away is not eternal. Every form that is born has to pass away, but the underlying essence has no form and never passes away. If you attach yourself to a form, you make a big mistake. Even attaching yourself to the form of the Guru is a mistake. It is not the form of the person that can give you light; it is something else that is deep within your own Heart. That is your Guru. That Guru abides in the Heart of all beings, not only human beings but also animals, birds, trees and plants. When you see your own essence, when you have that direct experience, you will see that every plant and animal is your own Self. They will all start to speak to you. This is the formless Self in the Heart of all beings.
To expound and propagate concepts is simple to drop all concepts is difficult and rare.
Under the anger, under the fear, under the despair, under the broken heartedness, there is a radiance that has never been harmed, that has never been lost, that is the truth of who one is.
Self-realization is the willingness to stand as the Buddha, as the Christ, as every great icon we have had throughout time. Self-realization is not for the faint of heart.
When you are willing to stop looking for something in thought, you find everything in silence.
GRACE LIES HIDDEN IN OUR EFFORT
Once I sought Bhagavan’s blessings on the ground that all my efforts to abide at the source of the mind had proved futile.
When Bhagavan asked, “What is the obstruction?”
I answered, “It is my deep-rooted tendencies. I need your grace.”
His reply was, “Your repeated effort is bound to erase them. All sadhana is meant for this purpose only.”
He further observed, “Keep up your practice. There is no need to remind God about His business which is to keep an eye always on our welfare. The mistake one is prone to make is to abandon effort under the mistaken impression that God’s grace is absent. But one should not slacken, for God’s grace is bound to operate at the ripe time.”

The devotee is a Divine lark, immersed in the spirit of his song; he has no thought about personal gain or impressing others with his singing. The actions of the devotee are for the Infinite alone, not to please mankind nor to satisfy his own material desires.
Nothing belongs to you or me. Nothing belongs. Everything, everything, everything simply IS.
Space is in you. The physical body is in space, but not you.
As soon as the 'seeker' is seen to be a mere thought arising in Awareness, he merges into Awareness and the spell of separation is broken. The seeker doesn't become a Finder. The 'seeker' ceases becoming and merges in the absolute Awareness.
At the shrine of Truth offer yourself to be completely absorbed.
How are you going to understand Truth?
To study and read holy scriptures is not enough.
Better than studying the holy scriptures, go and drown yourself in the Master's spit.
Your Heart has to be baptised in the spirit of God - in trust and openness. Then alone will intuitive and effortless knowledge awaken in you.

Questioner: How to find the Atman [Self]?
Ramana Maharshi: There is no investigation into the Atman. The investigation can only be into the non-self. Elimination of the non-self is alone possible. The Self being always self evident will shine forth of itself.
