Questioner: In all the universe is there one single thing of value?
Maharaj: Yes, the power of love.
Maharaj: Yes, the power of love.
I am not interested in communicating something to you, I am interested in communion. Communication means my mind talking to your mind. Communion means I am not a mind, you are not a mind - just your heart melting into my heart, no words.
Remember the person who wants to trust is the ego.
So you don’t want to do any of those things.
You just want to awaken and you don’t even want to do that.
Just be your Self, be your Self.
Ask yourself,
«Who wants to trust?
Who wants to awaken?»
and you will see it’s all your ego, it’s ‘I’.
‘I’ want to do this, ‘I’ want to do that, ‘I’ want an experience, ‘I’ want this.
All of that has to go.
When all of that has gone, the sun will shine by itself.

Everyone is aware of the eternal Self. He sees so many dying but still believes himself eternal. Because it is the Truth. Unwillingly the natural Truth asserts itself. The man is deluded by the intermingling of the conscious Self with the insentient body. This delusion must end.
Throw off the yoke of belief, for to arrive at the nobility of truth you must be cleansed of all borrowed knowledge till you are as innocent as the day before you were born. You must forge from within your longing a fiery sword of discrimination, unsheathed from the past—starting now on this hill we stand upon, determined to never again take anything secondhand, but instead prove true or false each statement yourself.
For truth belongs to neither man or woman, nor holy book, nor well-reasoned philosophy or belief, but only to itself—immortal and pure. I seek only to remove untruth from your mind so that you may be restored to the unitary vision which is your everlasting inheritance.

Because the sound of the rain needs no translation.
Don't be a storehouse of memories.
Leave past, future and even present thoughts behind.
Be a witness to life unfolding by itself.
Be free of all attachments, fears and concerns by keeping your mind inside your own heart. Rest in Being.
Like this, your life is always fresh and imbued with pure joy and timeless presence.
Be happy, wise and free.

Play the game with yourself.
Whenever you think of another person, whenever you think of a problem, whenever you think of a beautiful sunset, catch yourself.
Ask yourself,
«To whom has this come?
It has come to me.
I perceive it.
Before you ask, ‘Who am I?»
Remember to realize that you are not the ‘I’.
The ‘I’ that perceives is not you.
In other words, What you must do from now on is, when you refer to ‘I’, you’re not talking about yourself.

Don't be misled by the personal mind flow which often draws one's attention away from reality and ties it up with mundane, material concerns. It is in such ways that even seekers of truth get 'stuck' in the level of time, effort and identity. Wake up.
One’s unceasing effort to turn the mind – which is always extroverted due to the force of habit [cultivated in past births] – towards Self by the Self-enquiry “Who am I?” is [the significance of] the great war being fought between devas and asuras [which is described in the Puranas].
(GURU VACHAKA KOVAI: 396)
[Sadhu Om: “In India many stories are recorded in books known as the Puranas, which tell of the wars being fought between devas [gods] and asuras [demons]. These wars should not be regarded as mere myths or events that happened only in the distant past, they are going on even today. They are the constant battle which is always being fought in the life of a sadhaka between his liking to attend only to Self and the habitual outward-going tendencies of his mind.”]

Self-Inquiry is merely to ‘quiet the mind’.
It’s a fast method to ‘quiet the mind’.
For when you ask,
«To whom does this come?
It comes to me», and you hold on to that me by inquiring,
«‘Who am I?’
What is ‘I’?»
And saying ‘I-I’ to yourself,
‘I-I’, the mind becomes quieter and quieter.
The deeper you go within yourself the quieter you become.
And that’s your sadhana.
That’s all you have to do.

The end point is already at the beginning. That’s what we call the direct path. You don’t have to get to silence. You simply have to realize it’s there. You don’t have to get to openness. You simply need to realize it’s already there. You don’t need to get to freedom. You simply need to recognize that it’s already there. You don’t need to get to no-self. You just need to recognize that there isn’t one there to begin with. You don’t have to get to the divine. You simply have to recognize that it’s the only thing that’s going on already. That’s called the direct path. It’s a direct experiential introduction to the view. The key is that it’s got to be experiential.
When you experience only God, your whole life is an act of worship, a form of prayer, a song of praise. You see enlightenment, dormant, in everyone who comes before you. You see the inmost Self and feel deep reverence. Nothing is insignificant; everything has meaning. Even in a blade of grass you see supreme Light shining.
If you hold your ground in the silence… in the isness…
then all things float up in front of you.. more and more you will see the true workings off the universe from the place of the true.

You see yourselves and me as entities, separate entities; I see you exactly as I see myself. You are what I am, but you have identified yourself with what you think you are — an object — and seek liberation for that object. Is this not a huge joke? Can any object have independent existence and volition of action? Can an object be bound? And liberated?
If you are silent, be silent out of love. If you speak, speak out of love
Empty your mind of all thoughts. Let your heart be at peace. Watch the turmoil of beings, but contemplate their return. Each separate being in the Universe returns to the common source. Returning to the source is serenity.
Every person believes that they can spot their ego, not realizing that the person is the ego. The ego is only the sense that ‘I am a person’, which is created by believing thought.
When belief in thought is withdrawn, the oxygen supply to the person is cut off, but he still lives for a while, gasping for breath, panicking. In panic, he believes the most beautiful of thoughts: "I am God", "Belief in thought is also God's will", etc. But he cannot rely on them, and soon even these pristine thoughts are dropped.
Then he knows. Then he knows everything that can come from this mouth is only false and there is no Truth that can be spoken.
Silence is the only Truth.

Like the fragrance in a flower, like an image in a mirror, this sense of "I amness" is felt in the body. Therefore, give up your name 'Nanak' and also your identity with the body and abide in the sense of "I amness". You shall be liberated.
O Mind. What are you searching inside and outside? It is One only. Once the earthen pot bearing the name 'Nanak' is broken by getting rid of the concept that "I am the body", where then is the inside and outside? It is only 'I' prevailing everywhere.
Step out of the dream of your concepts and ideas.
Step out of the dream of what you imagine enlightenment to be.
Step out of the dream of who you think you are.
Step out of the dream of everything you have ever known.
Step out of your dream of being a deluded person.
Stop telling yourself those lies and dreaming those dreams.
Step out of all of that.
You can do it. Nothing is holding you back.
There are no requirements and no prerequisites to awaken.
There is nothing to be done, nothing to think, nowhere to go.
Just stop all dreaming.
Stop all doing.
Stop all excuses.
Just stop and be still.
Effortlessly be still.
Grace will do the rest.

Know yourself for who you are.
Never put yourself down.
Never compare yourself with anyone else.
Never be judgmental.
Learn to leave everything alone.
Do not come to a conclusion about anything.
There is no ultimate answer.
Do not search for reality.
Do not search for answers.
You will be searching for eternity.

Love is another word for the Self.
The Self is all-pervading.
The Self is consciousness.
The Self is absolute reality.
Therefore when I say I love you, the ‘I’ which is consciousness, absolute reality, the love which is also consciousness, which is absolute reality come together into oneness.
There is only one.
One love, one consciousness, one ‘I’.
The Self is all-pervading.

Life is inviting you:
Slow down in me. Move in me, with me, as me in this holy Oneness.
Slow down in me. Move in me, with me, as me in this holy Oneness.
The truth is that you are not alive as you appear.
The truth is that you are not anything that you can see, hear, touch, smell or feel.
You are not the senses, you are not the doer, you are not searching for anything, you are awake right now.
You are free right this moment.
And there is nothing that can ever interfere in this.
Not even your mind, not even yourself.
